The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRD) is currently accepting applications aimed at funding local projects aimed at innovative solutions in stormwater management through the use of green infrastructure (http://www.mwrd.org/irj/portal/anonymous/GI). According to MWRD Commissioner, Martin Durkin, “[MWRD] acknowledges the vital role of local government in addressing flooding concerns through the innovative use of green infrastructure. They are the first to experience the influx of water and the first to be impacted by flooding concerns.” The utility intends to provide partial funding on public property construction of selected installations. Interested public agencies within the MWRD district limits are encouraged to apply using the application at http://www.mwrd.org/pv_obj_cache/pv_obj_id_A8E4C2BA420577CF4D6467459D93EC0DDE801500/filename/Application.pdf.

The application deadline is July 14, 2017.
