Hydrologic cycle

The hydrologic cycle is the continuous movement of water from the earth, to the atmosphere and then back to the earth through various steps or processes such as precipitation (rain and snow), runoff, infiltration, percolation, storage, evaporation, and transpiration.  The hydrologic cycle is also referred to as the water cycle.
