The Train-the-Trainer workshop is being offered in conjunction with the Operation & Maintenance of Stormwater Control Measures Conference at Minneapolis, MN.

Workshop Schedule

  • Saturday, August 3 – 8 am to 5 pm CDT
  • Sunday, August 4 – 8 am to 5 pm CDT
  • Monday, August 5 – 8 am to noon CDT

Trainer Qualifications

All participants applying to become an NGICP approved trainer must possess two of the following three qualifications:

  • Minimum of a bachelor of science degree in water resource management or environmental science
  • Minimum 35 hours of experience as a trainer for hands-on, adult learning courses
  • Direct experience in Stormwater Green Infrastructure(GI) construction, inspection, or maintenance

Once registration has been completed, please submit the Qualified Trainer Application to praviprakash@wef.org, along with proof of meeting the two of the three trainer qualifications (listed above).

*Trainers may only hold NGICP trainings under a valid NGICP license. Trainers who do not wish to purchase a license, may only train for an organization that has a valid NGICP license.

Eligibility Requirements
All candidates interested in taking the NGICP exam must have completed High School education (at a minimum) and a 35hr GI training.   Applicants are required to upload a copy of their HS/college diploma or transcript at the time of registering for the NGICP exam and the trainers will submit the training attendance log to us (as proof of completing the 35hr training).

Exam Fee – $200 (paid to WEF)

Exam Information
The exam is currently being administered as a computer-based test at PSI Testing Centers.  Approved NGICP applicants will receive an email from PSI regarding scheduling the NGICP exam.  The NGICP Exam must be scheduled within one year of completion of training.

This event is cancelled and will be rescheduled to a future date (TBD).

WEF is piloting a Blended Learning Program (combination of online learning & a 2-day in-person training) in 2019.  As part of this pilot program, applicants are required to complete the GI modules online via WEF’s Learning Management System over 8 weeks (July & Aug) and then, attend a 2-day in-person training and take the exam after the training ends. Completion of the online modules is a pre-requisite to attend the in-person training.

Schedule
Online Learning (8 weeks): July to Aug.  Applicants will be given access to the training materials via WEF’s Learning Management System
In-person Training (2-day): Sep 9 and 10 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Exam Date: Sep 11 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Exam Eligibility
For this pilot program, NGICP certification requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) at a minimum and completion of the GI training (online learning component and the 2-day in-person training). All applicants must email Sarah Stallard (sstallard@wef.org), a copy of their transcript/diploma as proof of HS (or college) education before July 1, 2019.

Exam Details
This exam is being administered as a paper-and-pencil test. Results are usually available within 45 days.
